webstertrophy.ca Newsletter #002
Good morning everyone.

Do you wish to stay on the list?  The update series has been in place now for around six years and over that period of time it has grown extensively to over 80 people with numbers being added significantly each year as we gather new supporters, host schools, etc.  It does bring up the question however to those who have been receiving them over a long period of time as to whether or not everyone is still interested in receiving the updates.

Should you wish to have your name removed from further issues please reply to this message with a quick note and your name will be taken off the list.  It would be sad to lose your interest however fully understandable if you wish to withdraw.

Website Update:  It is becoming evident over the last while that with the large expansion of the Webster programme that we have to refine things somewhat. This year extensive work was done of modifying the flight tests at the national level including the introduction of  Redbird Flight Training Devices.  One area which needs work done on is the Webster website which has been basically the same format for years.  It needs to be modernized and slickened up, so a request has gone into our webmaster Ragi Sekaly of Northern Penguin Technologies to see if he and his design team are able to take on the project.  Should he be unable to take on the task, we may be be putting out a request to anyone with webpage experience to help us out.

Thank you one and all !! At  the recent Awards Banquet we had set up a rolling power-point presentation which acknowledged and thanked all of our supporters individually.  Unfortunately not all of them were able to attend.  Each year therefore an extensive thank you article is placed into COPA Flight as well as on their website and also distributed to WINGS, Learn-To-Fly.ca and other aviation trade publications, many of which place the item on their website.  Courtesy of COPA Flight editor, Michel Hell, we received a two page spread (shared with a Sennheiser ad) in COPA Flight and Michel did an excellent job of setting it up with associated pictures from Webster Week. The article is located in the most recent issue starting on page 23.

Winnipeg 2013:   Activity is already stirring in respect of the 2013 competition being hosted by Harv Air Service,  Winnipeg (St.Andrews), Manitoba.  Association has been established with the Manitoba Aviation Council (MAC) which is becoming enthusiastically involved with the programme.  Through the efforts of our Director of Marketing Tim Mell, contact was made and a new and highly welcomed supporter has come on board.  On behalf of the entire Webster Team we wish to thank  Ron Coles, Executive Director of MAC and the entire Council staff for their interest in the Webster programme.

Have a great Thanksgiving everyone.

Wayne
