webstertrophy.ca Newsletter #008 - 2013

Good Day Everyone.

New Website:  As of Saturday evening, April 20th, the long-standing and rather worn looking Webster website was removed and replaced with a slicker and more modern format.

The Webster Team would like to thank our webmaster Ragi Sekaly , Northern Penguin Technologies for the outstanding job that was done by he and his associates.  There is also provision for social media inclusion through the site, yet to be considered and perhaps likely implemented in the future.  Check it out at webstertrophy.ca.

An electronic pay system is being investigated at the moment to allow competitors to submit their fees electronically.

Webster Updates:  You may notice that this update is in a different format than those previously received.  Due to extensive computer problems experienced from my personal computer's mail delivery system, group e-mails are now being sent out through an associated website method.  It is also a safer method as each update is sent individually thus reducing the risk of a group being hacked.  Previous e-mails are also on the new website under the heading of newsletter archives.

New Supporter:  On behalf of the Webster Team I would like to welcome on board Aeroformatech. While attending ATAC last November Aeroformatech had a portable firefighting unit on site where you could experience realistic on board fire scenarios from both the pilot and passenger standpoint.  It was extremely impressive and I would recommend that everybody should experience it.  Our contact from Aeroformatech, Daniel Limoges has offered the entire training course to each of our nine finalists, which includes an on-line preparation followed by actual training in the unit.  The finalists will be asked to complete the on-line programme before arriving in Winnipeg and they will take the unit training during Webster week complete with a certificate good for three years.

Thank you Aeroformatech for your generosity and we will see you at Harv's Air in August.  Aeroformatech has bases  across the country in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Montreal.

Early Bird and Flight Instructor Draws:  The annual list of prizes are being accumulated and placed on the website.  Early Bird prizes are scheduled for those competitors getting their applications in before May 1st.  Flight Instructor prizes are meant for those instructors (or any others) who encourage a competitor to enter.  Their is a line on each application form to indicate the person who encouraged the specific applicant to compete.  Should a particular person encourage multiple pilots to enter, than there is a ticket entered into the draw for each one.

Below is the list of prizes thus far:

Early Bird Draw

One HME-110 Headset donated by Sennheiser Canada

One COPA Weekender Flight bag and Pilot Licence Document Holder donated by the Canadian Owners and Pilots Association

Wayne
